Anzac Day

It can get a bit tricky picking the vibe of these type of events, but ESSENTIAL 2009 sounds like a great time if its lineup is anything to go by.

Spread across Oxdford Arts, Spectrum and Q Bar you can catch bands like Dappled Cities, The Holidays, The ELF, Birdgemary Kiss, Under Lights, Sherlock's Daughter all day and for about $30.

Definately worth your while if you aint studying, working or getting your 2-up on down the RSL. Go 'Straya.

Oh, and its also hands down a much more attractive option that Timmy Trumpet at the Greenwood.

You know id like to, but...

Anyways, heres a few for a rainy day:

The National - About Today
Beirut - Nantes
Roots Manuva - Movements
Teenagers in Tokyo - End it Tonight (Seekae remix)

No worries, check Mr Officer off of his 2008 EP The Day Before- easily the best hip hop track around about getting mugged on George St.

Anyways, get to the album launch on Friday at SoSueMe (Q Bar) for a live MC set and a hectic supporting cast.

Super Heroes

Low on funds? Tired as a mofo from the long weekend?

Catch Under Lights, who put on a sensational live show, tomorrow night at the Beach Road (its Wednesday duhhhh) then chill with Sui Zhen at the Hopetoun on Thursday.

Both these guys are class acts: Sui Zhen has a lovely EP already under her belt and old southern rockin 'View boys Under Lights have one in the pipeline.

Wednesday 15th March
Andy Bull, Under Lights @ The Beach Rd, from 8pm - FREE

Thursday 16th March
Sui Zhen + band @ The Hopetoun w/ Tapestries of Sound and Redjaywa -$10

Completely unrelated, Dawn Landes' track Bodyguard is a deadset sleeper, banjo and all. You should definately listen to it. If you're in Michigan tonight then check her as well!
